Painted in acrylic, oil and mixed media on canvas, this piece is built up layer by layer with brush and palette knife. Loose drips run through the surface, giving it depth and a real sense of movement.

This is a dark, smouldering painting. Most of the canvas is covered in smoky brown, grey, and charcoal, blended softly so it looks like ash or storm cloud. The darkest tones settle along the bottom edge, where the paint turns nearly black. Bright red breaks through in several places: a large patch in the upper right, a streak on the left, a glow on the right side, and a thin line near the bottom right corner. The red looks like something burning underneath the grey, showing wherever the surface cracks open. Just below the centre, a patch of thick white cuts across at a slight diagonal. It is the brightest point by far and gives the painting its focus, like a break in the smoke or a flash of light. The surface is heavily textured. Raised ridges, creases, and a wrinkled skin of paint run across the whole canvas, and near the top centre there is a rough black area that looks charred. It reads as cooling lava, embers under ash, or a stormy sky lit by fire.

This artwork appears to feature layered acrylic paint applied with expressive brushstrokes, palette-knife textures, and fluid dripping techniques. Multiple layers of paint create depth, movement, and a richly textured surface.
