Contemporary Abstract Expressionism I Fractured Light

This is a dense, complex abstract expressionist painting — far busier and more layered than your other pieces, closer in spirit to action painting or gestural abstraction. There’s no single focal point — instead, the canvas is built from overlapping fields and fractured shapes that suggest, without depicting, an urban or interior scene: architectural fragments, maybe a bowl or cup shape upper-right, angular geometric “windows” of colour scattered throughout an unusually rich, varied range — golden ochre and mustard yellow dominate the left-center as a warm glowing core, set against deep charcoal-black, burgundy-red, powder blue, and cream-white. Small pops of cobalt and cadmium red punctuate the darker zones on the right. Extremely heavy impasto and mixed mark-making — palette knife work, dripping, scraping, and layering are all visible. Paint has been applied, partially removed, and reapplied, giving real archaeological depth to the surface.
