Contemporary Abstract Expressionism I Golden Hour
Price range: €299.00 through €1,699.00
✨ Product Short Description
Painted in acrylic and mixed media on canvas, this piece is built up layer by layer with brush and palette knife. Loose drips run through the surface, giving it depth and a real sense of movement.
🖼️ Product Description
A large cloud of soft yellow fills the upper two-thirds of this painting, glowing like sunlight through haze. It is surrounded by pale sky blue, and near its lower right edge a patch of thick white marks the brightest point, as if the sun itself were sitting there. The edges and the bottom of the canvas are dark. Charcoal and black close in from the corners, deep navy runs across the lower third, and warm rust and terracotta glow on the left and right sides like embers or autumn trees. The dark border works like a frame, so the yellow seems to shine from within. Everything is soft and blended, with smoky edges and very few hard marks. The yellow is slightly thicker and more textured than the rest, which helps it come forward. The painting feels warm and hopeful. It reads as a sunrise over dark water, light filling a valley, or a glowing sky seen from the edge of a forest.
🖌️ Material Explanation
Acrylic or oil on canvas worked with a palette knife or scraper rather than a brush. In the teal and yellow areas you can see the grid of the fabric, which means those colours were applied thinly or scraped back so the paint only sits in the texture of the weave. The white is thick, with raised ridges and veined, crackled edges. This comes from pressing heavy paint onto the surface with a flat tool and pulling it away or dragging it across. Colour went down first and white was dragged over it. The white skips across the high points and leaves colour showing through the gaps, which creates the broken, eroded pattern. The matte, chalky finish and crisp layered edges are typical of acrylic, which dries fast enough to stack layers without blending.
