Creative Direction to Abstract, Realism, Contemporary Art
Brijesh Bhardwaj is a contemporary artist based in Amsterdam, where he has lived and worked since 2019. With a background in design and visual communication, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial & Advertising Design from the University of Delhi.
Before dedicating himself fully to contemporary art, Brijesh built a successful 20year career in the creative industry, working with leading international advertising agencies including FCB, McCann, Ogilvy, Dentsu, Rediffusion, and Boost. His work in advertising and visual communication has been recognised with several professional awards.
Since moving to the Netherlands, Brijesh has focused his creative energy on painting, developing a distinctive artistic language through continuous exploration and experimentation.
The Artistic Language
Where Realism Meets Expression
Brijesh’s work combines elements of realism and expressionism, resulting in richly layered compositions characterised by expressive textures, earthy colour palettes, and a distinctive visual signature.
Nature serves as a constant source of inspiration. Rather than depicting landscapes literally, he interprets natural forms, colours, and rhythms through a contemporary perspective. His artworks explore the emotional connection between people and the natural world, creating compositions filled with depth, movement, and atmosphere.
Many of his works incorporate sculptural textures that add a tactile, three-dimensional quality. These surfaces interact with changing light and perspective, allowing each artwork to reveal new details and expressions throughout the day.

Since 2019, Brijesh has exhibited his work internationally through galleries and art fairs. His paintings are held in private collections and created to bring warmth, character, and a timeless contemporary presence to residential and commercial interiors.
Each artwork is an exploration of colour, texture, movement, and emotion. Through his practice, Brijesh aims to create a meaningful dialogue between the artwork and the viewer-inviting people to experience nature from a fresh and personal perspective.
His paintings are not simply representations of the natural world, but emotional interpretations designed to transform spaces and create a lasting connection with those who experience them.
